Josh Gordon Failed Another Drug Test Report Says

Earlier today, answers finally surfaced in the NFL offseason’s most ragin’ mystery: Who is Johnny Manziel’s roommate? Initially, it appeared it was fellow ex-Texas A&M Aggie Von Miller, but it turns out Manziel is shacking up with suspended Browns receiver Josh Gordon.
Per a suspiciously timed report from FOX Sports’ Mike Garafolo, Gordon has failed yet another drug test. Gordon missed the entirety of the 2015 season after testing positive for alcohol, and was in the process of trying to get himself reinstated. From the report:

Gordon’s sample, which was collected in early March, tested positive for marijuana and dilute, according to a source informed of the results of the test. The source added that both the “A” and “B” samples collected were positive for marijuana and dilute. Though the level of marijuana was below the 35 nanograms per milliliter required for a positive test, the diluted sample is considered a positive test.

The report doesn’t have a ton much more information regarding Gordon beyond the failed test. Nobody involved would comment, including Gordon’s agent. The NFL had 60 days to respond to Gordon’s application for reinstatement, but didn’t make a decision within the time frame. That deadline is a symbolic one, however, and Gordon is still in the Roger Goodell disciplinary vortex. News of Gordon’s failed test certainly would explain why Goodell took his time with Gordon’s application, especially since the test came in March.
FOX Sports also reported that sources close to Johnny Manziel are concerned about his partying habit—shocker. Manziel is still looking for another NFL team to play for. News of Gordon’s failed test breaking on the same day as a story about he and Manziel bunking together could be coincidence, but the timing feels rather odd.
It’s possible Gordon’s people leaked information on Gordon’s test hoping that it would get drowned out by the Manziel story. Hell, Manziel’s people could have leaked it in an attempt to shift blame for Manziel’s partying onto Gordon. Both of them come out of this looking worse for their association with the other. Either way, the timing of this report—which could just be coincidental!—is as interesting as its contents.
