The makers of Iru Mugan announced that Vikram plays a dual role in the film espionage thriller. However role performed by Chiyaan Vikram is still a secret. It is learnt that one could be a negative character, but this remains to be a suspense that makers don’t want to reveal. 

The  first look teaser of this film was released on Sunday  which also happens to be Chiyaan Vikram birthday. The film’s shooting is almost completed and only 40% is pending to be wrapped up. Nayantara and Nithya Menon are playing the female lead roles and Karunakaran is the lead comedian. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music for the film, while RD Rajeshekar is handling the camera

 

The film is currently getting on a full stretch shooting across the locales of Chennai and couple of songs featuring Nithya Menon and Nayantara each with Vikram would be canned during this schedule. Soon after this schedule, the entire crew will be flying to Thailand and Bangkok for completing the other portions.

The the team shot two schedules in Malaysia and then in Chennai. A replica of a tunnel in Malaysia, worth Rs 4 crore  was erected in Chennai, where a part of the film was shot.

Some reports claim that the theatrical release of Iru Mugan could happen on the festive occasion of Eid.
